Day 31: Tower of Treats

I love my cupcake tier.  It's perfect for displaying snack options.

Day 22: Welcomed!

It was an overwhelming first day of unit orientation, but a positive experience.   The nurses and other staff were helpful and friendly.  What more could I want?

Day 21: Muffins of Doom

I leave in one hour for my first day orienting on the floor at the hospital.  This photo will always remind me of the dread and anxiety I felt while making these muffins of doom:)

Day 18: Birthday Art

I finally got this print framed and hung.  Daniel gave me this for my birthday in June.  It is by Andy Kehoe, an artist he found on etsy.

Day 17: Craft Attack

This room was clean once, not too long ago...

Day 16: Great crafting potential

These books from the thrift store are going to be crafted into an amazing craft as soon as I get the rest of the supplies needed.  I can't wait to post pictures of the finished product.

Day 15: Nicole's Band Concert

Looking back at Nicole's guilty expression after Amy texted her telling her that her dad said to get off of her phone.

Day 14: Favorite Mint Cookies

I can't get enough of these cookies!  I'm afraid to add up how many I actually ate today...I think I'll just have one more:)

Day 13: Sunrise

On my way to my training, I had to pull over to get a picture of this.

Day 12: Sparkles

This is one of two sparkling trees I bought this season.  This one sits on the kitchen table, spreading cheer.

Day 11: Nurse's Shoes

Dark, rich, red, and oh so SHINY!  My new nursing shoes:)  I didn't think I'd ever get nursing clogs, but I did it, and I love them.

Day 10: Advent Chocolates

Daniel's aunt gives us these each Christmas.  This is my second Christmas receiving one, and I don't think Christmas will ever be the same without one from now on.  I love it when I forget to eat the chocolates for a few days, and then I get to eat several at once.  Oh, the simple pleasures in life.

Day 9: Popcorn

Hot, buttery, crunchy deliciousness...

Day 8: McGuirk

I love the way McGuirk's chin wrinkles when he is on his side like this.

Day 7: Wearing Scrubs

My first day wearing scrubs since nursing school.  This is an exciting thing for me.  In my previous nursing position, we were not supposed to wear full scrubs.  It was a home-like environment, and I understood the rationale.  However, whenever I had pictured myself as a nurse, it was always wearing scrubs.  I finally get to wear them again!  I'm going to kick cancer's butt in these scrubs!  This photo is kind of hilariously bad.  It is my rushed attempt at a self-portrait.  I'll work on it.  For my next self portrait I'll use a tripod instead of setting my camera on top of Daniel's jacket.

Day 6: Home-Cooked Goodness

After my second long day of orientation, I came home to another delicious, warm, home-cooked meal made by my sweets.

Day 5: Scrubbie Dub Dubs

Today was the first day of orientation at my new job.  I'm going to work on an oncology/med-surg unit at a hospital as an RN.  I dumped out my box of hand-me-down scrubs, which I will soon need to sort through to find out what fits and what does not.  It's exciting, but my nerves are wracked!

Day 4: Beautiful Refuse

I finished a quilt top today using these thrift store shirts.  There is still so much fabric left!  Enough for another small quilt perhaps.

First 3 Days of Photos

Daniel's 30th birthday take-out

Rustic apple tart made from scratch.  Whole wheat crust.  Yum.
